P4k – no 49: Natalie Press – Natalie PressPosted: December 19, 2015
Had I ever heard of them before: nope.
Reductive First Impression: kind of reminds me of a late sixties singer song writer going down to Nashville or Muscle Shoals. The arrangements are Van Dykes Parksy in places – it’s all pleasant enough but honestly, I wasn’t enthralled.
She sounds a little like Lambchop with a melodious voice instead of a husky croon and without any lyrics i can go “yeah that’s awesome” too.
Will I listen to it again: no, possibly my loss as there might be hidden depths to this but I didn’t get any on first listen.
